I see "perils" of two basic types; 1) Scaring the wits out of a poor girl (extreme mental anguish), or 2) scaring the wits out of her and then carrying out your threat. One of my favorite type 1 scenes is the old horror film "pit and the pendulum" where the poor girl is standing on a retractible shelf that's getting smaller and smaller, over a pit filled with poisonous snakes. Great acting; she is breathing so heavily her breasts are almost popping out of her low cut gown.

Type 2 scenarios could provide variations for beheading fans; decapitation by train, decapitation by pendulum, etc.

You could also frighten the girl to death, particularly if she has a weak heart. One of my favorite films is the original French version of "Diabolique." All the scary events of the film finally achieve their purpose, the young woman suffers a fatal heart attack, wearing a see-through nightgown.

Other extreme fright scenarios would include threatening to throw her off a tall building, or out of a small airplane.
