DAZ has a promo in February. D/S 4 PRO, Bryce Pro, and Hexagon 2.5 are all free.

D/S 4 Pro includes Content Creation Tools, the Texture Atlas, Photoshop Bridge, Z-Brush Bridge, and a ton of other stuff.

Retail, that is up until January 31st, that was $800 worth of software, free for one month. Full versions, not Demos.

I'm wondering, what's up with DAZ. They are risking to leave previous customers, who may have paid a whopping 400 odd for DS from their end-of-year bonus, royally pissed off by devaluing their software to almost zero now. If they maintain such a business strategy, potential new customers interested in DAZ' upcomming products will just wait those few months to get it thrown at them for nothing but a newsletter subscription. Only the really impatient and stupid would buy it at retail prices right away.

Sort of what's being discussed on a thread over there Hadrain. There are a bunch of pissed off people. I don't know why the hell they did it, or what the marketing motive behind it was. On the other hand, I wouldn't go looking a gift horse in the mouth. I paid for DAZ studio Pro, but I never could cost justify Bryce, and I just picked it up free *shrug* You win a few, you lose a few.

I will say my upgrade to DAZ 4.0 pro cost me half of what my upgrade to Poser Pro 2012 cost, so I can't say I feel all that "had" about it either way
