Anybody following the upcoming releases?

I have been happy with PoserPro 2010. It is always interesting to see what more improvements they can make. Hadn't heard of 2012, thanks for the alert.

Here is the URL to the notification page. You might want to get on their notification list since there is a significant discount on the upgrade with a pre-order

Anyone care to comment on DAZ 4 versus earlier versions?

I haven't done much with 4 yet, I am waiting for 4 A to come out. I currently use 3 A and can't afford the downtime. From what little I have played with it, I am not happy with the interface, but since I am using a lot of stuff that is missing in the basic version I really can't give you a reasonable report of it. Genesis looks to be pretty good from what little I have played with it, but it is still a question of what you have to buy all over again to use it, and I have a lot tied up in generation 4

I just cant get into any version of daz3d or poser. I like the results but they are a pain. especially with clothes and props. I wish they would come out with a new more user friendly version of one of them. thats my wish.

photoshop can be tricky at times to use but its easier in compare to poser or daz.

I started with Poser 3. The learning curve would be too high for my to worry about getting up to speed on DS4. Advance Posers also are adding things that only a geek would know how to use them.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to try out DS4 Pro, and I must say, that I was quite disappointed. The GUI might be a bit better (i.e. more intuitive) than Poser's, but I'd rather go for copy of the previous versions of Poser (either 8 or 2010 Pro) from eBay, than spending royalties on this rather mediocre application. Even the new Vicky is no match for a fully equipped (i.e. morphed) V 4.2. I haven't seen Poser 2012 yet, but since I've come to use Poser for setting up my characters only and doing the actual rendering in other environments, I don't really want to mess with it for now.

No gain without pain, I guess. ;)
